Nieuwe muziek in mijn collectie en (regelmatig) te beluisteren via het internetradiostation Hit100.nl, dat ik samen met Willem Keekstra beheer. De (meeste) platen van hieronder worden dan gemixt met muziek van 1960 tot en met dit jaar.

1.Needtobreathe – The Outsiders – “We’re from a small town in South Carolina called Possum Kingdom,” NEEDTOBREATHE frontman Bear Rinehart explains when asked about the place he and his younger brother/co-writer Bo were raised. “Trust me – there was absolutely no music scene there.” And, though he makes light of it, the relative isolation that came with growing up in such an environment must have played some part in fostering the independent-minded approach the Rinehart boys would later bring to their band.

Cheryl Ann Cole (Newcastle, 30 juni 1983) is een Engelse zangeres. Ze maakt sinds haar winst in Popstars – the Rivals deel uit van de meidengroep Girls Aloud. Hoewel ze zingt sinds ze twaalf is, heeft ze hiervoor nooit in een andere groep gezongen. Ze is getrouwd met voetballer Ashley Cole en is daarmee de enige gehuwde zangeres van Girls Aloud. Voordat Cole bekend werd, werkte ze in de horeca.

John Mayer

1. John Mayer – Who Says John Clayton Mayer (16 oktober 1977) is een Amerikaanse gitarist en singer-songwriter die in New York woont. Hij won in korte tijd een aantal Grammy Awards. Mayer bezocht de Berklee College of Music, waar hij ervaring opdeed, alhoewel niet op de school zelf. Nadat hij een jaar in Atlanta doorbracht, bracht hij in 1999 zijn eerste album Inside Wants Out uit. Who Says is een heerlijk rustig nummer.
